I am completing my DIY Packet, how important is it that my drawing is perfect? Well, you do not have to be perfect, but it should be accurate to within a foot or so. Having an accurate drawing is key to us creating a professional drawing. If you are not confident you can draw your property accurately we do offer a satellite/plane photography option for an additional fee.
Do I need to show trees or any other obstacles in my drawing? Yes, sprinklers cannot shoot through items like dense trees and shrubs, sheds or swing sets to name a few. Without that information you could end up with "sprinkler shadows." These are areas that do not end up with enough water due to the water being blocked and thus creates dry spots.
Do I need any special tools? No, any special tools that are needed will be delivered with your parts directly to your doorstep.
What tools do I need to have? If you are a Do-It-Yourself person you should have all the tools you need. The list usually includes a screwdriver or screw gun, pipe wrenches, a rubber mallet, trenching shovel, or even better rent a trencher, and a tape measure.
Do I need any special training or expertise? The average Do-It-Yourselfer can handle this project with ease. If you are not sure give us a call and we can walk you through some of the trickier parts and you can decide for yourself. We do recommend taking on a project like this with someone else as working alone is lonely and as always having two heads is better than one... Maybe work with your neighbor and you both install systems in each of your yards!
Is there telephone support? Yes, telephone support is offered with your basic package. Although time is not unlimited, packages are available to increase time as needed. But honestly, 99% of all questions can be answered over email. We are also compiling an extensive databank of blog posts and video posts to cover virtually all questions. Please be patient though as we are compiling them as quickly as possible. Email us a good question and we may create a video just for you!
Do I need to sign for my parts and how do they arrive? You do not need to sign for your parts. Parts are delivered using UPS and FedEX directly to your doorstep.
What is the average shipping time? Most shipments arrive 2-3 days after the order is placed. Note: If you want to start this weekend on your system it is best to order your parts at the latest Wednesday morning to make sure you have them by Friday afternoon.
What if I am missing parts? We have systems in place to minimize missing parts. Once your package arrives inventory all items and if by chance you are missing something please contact us and we will get whatever you need out to you so as not to hold you back in installing your system.
Is there any parts that will not come in my delivery? Yes, typically the only item we do not ship is PVC pipe. PVC pipe comes in 20' lengths and is cost prohibitive to ship around the country. It is much less expensive for you to purchase locally. PVC pipe can be purchased at your local hardware store, big box or plumbing supply store. Ask about delivery as carrying 20' pieces of pipe on a small vehicle is often not practical. Note: PVC fitting will come in your delivery so no need to buy those and yes, we will tell you how much pipe you need to purchase.
